Welcome to 

       "Police Quest: In Pursuit of The Death Angel"


Thank you for purchasing the new SCI version of Police
Quest.  We hope you have as much fun playing it as we had
creating it!

This file contains the most up-to-date information about
the version of the game you're currently playing.  To be
more specific:

1. If your computer is close to the minimum "free memory"
   to run this game, you may experience slowdowns in some
   areas or receive the error message "Out of Hunk".  If
   this occurs, try running the game from a boot disk as
   described in your Sierra Game manual.  (To check free
   memory, type "chkdsk" from DOS.  If the "bytes free"
   number reported is less than 574,800, you may need
   to use a boot disk.)

2. Our INSTALL program is unable to "auto-magically"
   detect whether or not you have a Creative Music System
   GameBlaster Card in your computer.  If you have one,
   go ahead and select it yourself.  (Who says computers
   are smarter than you?!)

3. Sometimes INSTALL will report that you have the Disney
   DAC.  If you don't have it, just don't choose it!

4. If you select the General MIDI sound driver and your 
   MIDI sound device is NOT hooked up, the game will not 
   function properly and you will have to reboot your   
   computer.  Please be sure that your MIDI device (or  
   any device you select during INSTALL) is properly    
   hooked up before you begin the game.

5. You'll be given complete instructions on how to use  
   the Police Quest driving interface as soon as you    
   enter the patrol car for the first time.  From there 
   on in, you can refresh your memory by clicking the EYE 
   icon on the driving icons along the top of the       
   dashboard at any time.

6. The Gazette that came in your game box contains reams 
   of important information, including correct Police   
   Procedures, a game map, violation and radio codes, and 
   even a (hidden) locker number.  Be sure not to throw 
   this documentation out!
