DDUTILITY INFO Last Update 4/29/97 Copyright (C) 1997 MSD, Inc. Serial Number 755-000-123 DDUtil Instructions 12/23/97 ------------------- DDUtil is a program that will take a list of filenames and create a DiskDupe image from them. You can create 320k, 360k, 720k, 1.2Mb, 1.4Mb, 1.68Mb, 2.88Mb or Mac high density images. Installing DDUTIL ----------------- - Copy DDUTIL.EXE into the \DISKDUPE subdirectory that DiskDupe is currently installed in. (DDUTIL.EXE requires the use of DISKDUPE.BRS) - If necessary, add the \DISKDUPE subdirectory to your path statement so you can run DDUtil from any subdirectory Creating the File List ---------------------- - The file list is an ascii text file that contains one filename per line for each file to be included in the image. - The filenames can include the drive and path of where they are located but they will all be placed in the root directory of the image. - Blank lines or lines that start with a semicolon ";" will be ignored. Mac Images ---------- - For Mac images, the files will be copied to the data fork. If you want to change the defaults on how all files are copied put this on a separate line ". type=text creator=msdos fork=data". If you want to change the default for just one line, put the same line without the period after the filename. - You can use the Macintosh program BinHex to convert program files into MacBinary format. In the file list specify: "MACPROG.BIN FORK=BOTH". DDUtil will expand the original filename, data and resource forks, creator and type. - Mac images can hold a maximum of 70 files. Running DDUtil -------------- - Once the file list has been created, run DDUTIL to convert it to an image with the command "DDUTIL @FILES.LST TEST.DDI 5", where FILES.LST is the file list you created and 5 is for a 1.4Mb disk. - The other disks types are: 1 = 320k 2 = 360k 3 = 720k 4 = 1.2Mb 5 = 1.4Mb 6 = 2.88Mb 7 = Macintosh high density - For a help summary, type DDUTIL /?
