Change settings
Use the "Change settings" window to:
- Specify the location of a Software Selections CD
image that you want to access.
This image can be on your computer or on an attached network drive.
- Select the language in which you want to view the Software
Selections CD program text and the language of the software
products to be installed from the CD.
- Select how information about software products is
displayed in the "Install programs,"
"Uninstall programs," and "Install device drivers"
windows.
- Enable or disable custom installation of programs.
A custom installation allows you to specify certain parameters
during the installation process; a typical, or silent,
installation occurs without user input, using default parameters.
When custom installation is enabled, a Custom installation
checkbox is displayed under the name of each program in the
"Install programs" window.
To access a Software Selections CD image on your computer or on
an attached network drive, click Browse.
From the directory tree, select the path in which the
Software Selections CD image is located, and click OK.
To change the language, click Change.
In the window that appears, click the arrow beside the current language
to display the list of available languages.
Click the language you want to use, and click OK.
To activate the new language, exit from the Software Selections
CD and restart it.
Note: Not all software products are available in all languages.
To select how information about software products is displayed, click
to select the button for the option that you want.
To enable custom installation of programs, click to select the
Enable custom installation of programs checkbox.
To disable custom installation, click to remove the check mark.
To exit from the Software Selections CD, click Exit.
