Notes on PFS Write, File, and Report ------------------------------------ PFS Write, File, and Report came on copy protected diskette. To create a usable copy, you must use Teledisk to write the diskette image to a 360k disk. Teledisk v2.12 can be found at: ftp://tvdog.shacknet.nu/tandy1000/system/old/teled212.zip ftp://ftp.oldskool.org/pub/tvdog/tandy1000/system/old/teled212.zip Note if installing on a Tandy 1000-series that Teledisk is not compatible with the floppy controller on some models. You may need a second machine with a 5-1/4" drive to create an install disk. These programs will only install from a 360k diskette in drive A:. You must have a 5-1/4" drive to install. If you have an original 1000, 1000A, SX, TX, EX, or HX and your 5-1/4" drive is drive B:, you can make it drive A: temporarily by hitting F3 at boot time. If you have a later model Tandy 1000-series, you can use the system setup program to make your 5-1/4" drive be the A: drive - if you don't see the option, use /A, i.e., SETUPTL /A. To install on a hard disk, first create a directory on your hard disk where the program should reside, ex.: C:\> MKDIR PFSFILE Note, the setup program will *not* create an install directory. To install, run the Setup program, not the Install batch file. When asked for the "Drive name for the hard disk:" by Setup, enter the full path to the directory where you want the program installed, ex., "C:\PFSFILE". When installing PFS File or Report, you should first select a work drive using the Setup program. When asked for the "Work drive name:", give the full path to the install directory, ex., "C:\PFSFILE". Check the installed directory for installed versions that do not require Teledisk or a 5-1/4" diskette drive (those versions, however, do not allow you to specify the install directory).
